4-day stage to allow the right preparation and the best timing to be able to climb the Matterhorn. Accompanied by a guide, this stage is for mountaineers who want to face the Matterhorn via the Hornli ridge

Schedule

The following program may be subject to change at the sole discretion of the instructor due to weather reasons or safety conditions on the glacier.

DAY 1

• Appointment in Cervinia at approximately 4pm, presentations and ascent to the Cervino Guide Refuge.
• Overnight stay at the refuge with dinner.

DAY 2

• Wake up early. Ascent to the Central Breithorn via the rocky East ridge
• Descent from the Western Breithorn on foot to Trockner Steg along the Teodulo glacier, with possible lunch break with the Matterhorn guides
• Descent by cable car from Trockner Steg to Schwarzsee, and then up an easy path to the Hornli Hutte
• Dinner and overnight stay at the refuge

DAY 3

• ascent to the Matterhorn (4634m), the symbolic peak of the Alps along the Hornli ridge and descent along the same route to the Hornli Hutte
• Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4

• Descent to Schwarzsee along the ascent path, ascent to Trockner Steg by cable car and ascent on foot along the Teodulo glacier to Testa Grigia, where you will take the lifts to return to Cervinia.

Participants
  • 1 per guide
  • 2 people: possibility of splitting the costs of a second guide for the days of climbing the Hornli ridge to the summit of Mount Cervino.

NOTE

The program has been designed so as to reach the top of the Matterhorn in 3 days instead of the classic 2. In this way the chances of climbing increase from a 50% probability to a 70/80% probability. Usually you run both uphill and downhill. In this way, in addition to crossing the Central and Western Breithorn on the second day along the rocky and stupendous East ridge (also useful for acclimatisation), the descent from the summit of the Matterhorn will be carried out more calmly and you will be able to sleep comfortably at the Hornlihutte refuge after this fantastic experience.

Excellent physical condition. Trained person who practices sports even at a non-competitive level. Previous experience on steep terrain. Have successfully completed an Advanced internship with Adventure Dreamers or comparable mountaineering curriculum. You can see this article for comparison.
Obviously a good physical shape allows you to progress faster.
Progression above 4000m is more tiring than at low altitude, this is due to the lack of oxygen.
If you have mountain experience even in the winter season and have already reached another 4000m of intermediate difficulty you will be able to participate

The registration fee includes:

– 4 days with a mountain guide
– The guide’s accommodation and half board costs – Membership in the Adventure Dreamers group in your region, being able to participate in free self-organised activities of our members throughout the year.

However, it does not include nights and half board in the refuges, the guide’s lunches, cable cars, travel to the places where the event takes place and the rental of ice axes, crampons and harness.
The event will take place in the Matterhorn massif in the locations indicated in the Program. However, due to weather conditions or the state of the glaciers and in any case for safety reasons, the Alpine Guide reserves the right to modify the program at its sole discretion.

It is possible to organize yourself independently in cars shared between participants, via the WhatsApp group, created about a week before the event.

The precise time and location will be communicated via a WhatsApp group, approximately 2/3 days in advance, based on weather and snow conditions.
